Leanne's Testimony
Searching... and then finding.
Leanne had a lot going for her. She had friends,
she was intelligent and she enjoyed going out and
having fun. But inside she was restless.
“I felt like I was searching for something,” says
Leanne.
Over several years her search took her
into spiritualism, Black Buddhism, the paranormal
and astrology. “But I never really got anything out
of it. I always felt like I still had something
missing.”
 One of Leanne’s friends was a Christian who invited her for a weekend
away with a group of young people her own age where spiritual issues
could be freely discussed.
Leanne was surprised to find the discussions about the Bible and
Christianity were really interesting and relevant and she enjoyed making
new friends. After the weekend, she continued to go to a discussion
group where her questions were honestly answered. She began to feel
challenged about the things she was hearing.
That night, Leanne went home and asked
Jesus to forgive her and to come into her life
She realized she could stop searching.
cleared out her astrology books and crystals,
and she knows now that she will never look
for answers there again.
“There were bin bags full of stuff and there
was a part of me that kind of wept, but it
helped me so much,”
And how have things changed for Leanne?
Well, things have not always been easy. Some of her former friends don’t
like her new Christian way of life and beliefs and Leanne herself admits
that change can be hard.
“I’m still changing. I feel like I’m a baby all over again, learning how to live!
But I’m so glad I’ve got Jesus in my life. I wouldn’t give it up for the world.
I really wouldn’t!”
